How was your life at my age?

How was life in another decade

Well, this day I have to do an interview with an elderly person, a grandfather, but unfortunately my grandmother is no longer with us and my other grandmother lives very far away and these are times of a pandemic so I am not going to put her in danger because of something like this.

So I decided better to interview my mom. She is not that old but he is old enough to describe to me what her childhood was like, without so much technology.

This would be the transcript of what she told me, enjoy it.

- Hello mom, I will ask you some questions and you swear to be truthful and only with the truth? -
-
Too much, right? -
-

Well, let's continue. Can you tell me in a summarized way how was your childhood? What did you do? -
-

I used to go for a walk near your grandmother's house, there was a very big river where we went to cool off and play -

- I used to play with some branches that we called rice flower because when you removed the petals they looked like small grains of rice and they were soft like cotton. -

- I see, those plants were fun to play with, they still exist. -

- What other things did you use to do? -

- I used to eat a lot of the fruit they now call dragon fruit. In your grandmother's house she had a tree with that fruit.

We already talked about your childhood, tell me what were you doing at my age? -

- At your age there was not much to do, we lived in an area where there were few houses but, in high school age, I used to go with your aunt to "tardeadas" and played music of the time. -

- That's cool, I can't imagine you going to those places but ok. -

- We also went to the movies when we were older. It was very different from what they are now and before you could buy a ticket for one function and you could stay to see the next one. And there were also intermissions for longer movies. -

- That's very interesting, said a friend. It was good talking to you about that. Thank you very much, see you at dinner. -

Well guys. That was the little interview I did. I hope you like it, see you.

My favorite movie scene

Forrest Gump When Jenny leaves Forrest and he runs off. Forrest wakes up and sees that Jenny is not in her room. On his bed he had left the medal he had given her. After he is sitting outside his house thinking what to do, he is seen wearing the tennis shoes that Jenny gave him earlier. Then he starts running without stopping, first passing through his town until he reaches the outskirts of town. He was reaching the ocean, he would turn around and keep running without stopping. On the news they start talking about him as he keeps running all over the United States.  They begin to interview him by asking if he runs for world peace or for the helpless and he only answers that he wanted to run.   People began to approach him because what he was doing made sense to them. Everyone approach him asking for favors that, strangely enough, were always beneficial to them. After running for so long he stops and turns around and heads back home This is my favorite scene in this movie be...

The Polar Circle Marathon

The race only for the brave. Every year at the end of October, the Polar Circle Marathon is held in Greenland, the largest ice island in the world. It is a 42 kms marathon. It is one of the most exclusive races in the world since logistics in the area limits the number of participants to a total of 250. The terrain is mountainous until the end, with the steepest ascents being the climb that comes out of the ice sheet and the climb of approximately 75 meters high that is 5 km before the finish line. Marathoners often come across oxen, reindeer and other animals that inhabit the Arctic desert and due to the danger of falling into a crevasse, runners are strictly prohibited from leaving the route marked on the ice sheet. An international team of doctors and nurses is available before, during and after the marathon. The race takes place every year, at the end of October. Starting at 8:30 am and takes place in Kangerlussuaq, a town in Greenland. The Polar Circle Marathon has been or...
